The West Virginia GOP voted on Saturday 65 to 54 limit who can vote in the Republican primary to only those who are registered as a Republican. The change won’t start until 2026. Unaffiliated voters who want to vote in the 2026 Republican primary will need to switch their party on the West Virginia Secretary of State’s website.
