Huntington Mayor gives his final major address

Huntington Mayor Steve Williams gave his final State of the City address on Monday night. The proposed budget was a big focus, currently sitting at over $77 million. The budget includes funding for the down payment on a new ladder truck for the Huntington fire department. Five new cruisers for the Huntington Police Department are also part of the spending plan, along with $2.4 million for street paving projects. The mayor said he is only budgeting for the time he has left as mayor. Williams has been the mayor of Huntington since 2013, and can’t continue because of term limits.
