The city of Charleston created the Charleston Land Reuse Agency in 2019. The CLRA adopted a new incentive program about a month ago, offering money to those that build homes on vacant lots. The New Construction Incentive program offers $35,000 for anyone building a home in Charleston that cost $300,000 or less. The program offers $50,000 dollars for homes that are built on CLRA lots. The CLRA has planned both a developer roundtable discussion and a public input session for those interested in the program. The roundtable discussion for developers will be February 21 at 3 p.m. at the Charleston City Service Center. The public input session will be February 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Roosevelt Community Center.
