Water districts to receive money for improvements

West Virginia Infrastructure and Job Development Council announced $6.4 million in funding for sewer and water projects across the state. The grants include $500,000 for the Bluewell Public Service District, $500,000 for New Haven PSD, $1.13 million for Birch River PSD and $1.08 million of Kanawha County Regional Development Authority, according to a news release. The grants will help with extensions and improvements to sewer and water systems across the state. Among the projects: $1.1 million for Lincoln County PSD to replace Raw Water Intake; $6.3 million for Mason County PSD to extend services; and $12 million to the City of Logan for supply and water treatment plant improvements. The council’s next meeting is currently set for March 6.
