Calhoun County bus driver is fired after crash that injured students

The driver of a school bus that crashed and injured more than a dozen students in Calhoun County has been fired. Jeffrey Brannon of Big Bend was charged with driving under the influence causing injury and child neglect resulting in serious injury after a crash on March 4 that injured 19 students. The after school activities bus rolled over after investigators said Brannon overcorrected when the vehicle initially went off the roadway along the South Calhoun Highway. Calhoun County Schools administrators confirmed this week that Brannon was fired following a board meeting. Two of the students injured in the crash remain hospitalized from the incident.
