DUI-related crash injures three people

A woman has been charged after a DUI crash in Charleston’s East End hospitalized two adults and a child Friday evening. 62-year old Teresa Thomas of Charleston, has been charged with driving under the influence causing bodily injury, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
The crash happened in the 2400 block of Washington Street East where three people were injured and another vehicle involved left the scene. Officers later stopped a vehicle with heavy body damage along Dry Branch Drive that matched a description of the car that left the wreck. Thomas was identified as the driver and was arrested after field sobriety tests.
