Legal Aid of West Virginia helps with new driver’s license reinstatement law

Legal Aid of West Virginia held a free clinic at the Kanawha County Public Library this week, aiming to help those who would benefit from learning about the driver’s license reinstatement process. In June 2022, a law was passed stating that the Department of Motor Vehicles could no longer suspend a driver’s license for failure to pay court fines and costs. If your license was suspended for not meeting these terms, you can now request a payment plan from the county clerk’s office or pay court costs in full to reinstate your license. Legal Aid of West Virginia can help facilitate that. There’s more at www.legalaidwv.org.
