One nonprofit is hoping to take unwanted guns and turn them into things like garden tools. The nonprofit, Raw Tools, will have blacksmiths come to St. Marks United Methodist Church in Charleston to chop up guns and then use the pieces to assemble garden tools or jewelry later on to sell to support their mission. If you are interested in attending the event the unloaded guns need to be brought to the event in the trunk of your car. People will stay in their car throughout the entire process. No names will be taken, but the serial number of the gun will be recorded. The event is on May 4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Charleston.
