USA Cycling competition will be in Charleston in May

The USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships will challenge bikers to weave and race their way through Charleston this May. The inaugural championship will take place May 14-19 and feature several events including time trials May 14-15, criterium on May 16-17 and a road race set for May 18-19. The cyclists will bike their way through the city with the time trials winners qualifying to represent Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics, according to The City of Charleston and the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau. The championship is expected to draw in more than 500 athletes and fans too. They’re working on plans to limit delays due to road closures and detours and will announce more at a later date. There’s more on the City of Charleston website.
