West Virginia announced Wednesday it is parting ways with interim coach Josh Eilert and beginning a national search for the next men’s basketball coach. Eilert was named interim coach in June, replacing Bob Huggins. Athletic director Wren Baker said in a statement shared on social media that he met with Eilert following the team’s first round loss to Cincinnati in the Big 12 Tournament and shared his plans for beginning a national search for the next head coach.
