A Fayette County man is sentenced for his daughter’s death

A man found guilty of murder was sentenced this week. In February, a Fayette County jury found Carl Cox of Dempsey guilty of murdering his daughter and son-in-law and Cox was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences this week. The bodies of Rhonda Cox and James A. “Jimmy” Neal, II were found in a bedroom, and the investigation showed there were no signs of a struggle. The jury made a recommendation of mercy for both counts, which means Cox could be paroled. He’ll have to serve 30 years in prison before being eligible for parole.
