Mingo County man charged with attempted murder

Court records say a Mingo County man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly firing multiple gunshots at a vehicle in Mingo County earlier this week. James Victor Hash, 20, of Williamson, has been charged with attempted murder and two counts each of brandishing a firearm, destruction of property and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, according to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office. On Tuesday, Williamson police responded to a West Avenue home and found gunfire had struck a vehicle, according to a criminal complaint filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court.The complaint said police conducted interviews with witnesses who claimed Hash fired multiple shots and left the scene. Investigators said the victim estimated damage to the vehicle to be more than $2,500. No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. Hash is awaiting court proceedings at Southwestern Regional Jail
