Murder suspect rejects a plea deal

A Michigan man rejected a plea deal this week after being accused in a deadly shooting in Charleston. Tyran Gray appeared in court Tuesday and rejected a plea deal for his alleged role in the 2022 shooting of Norman Sweeney, so the case now heads to trial. Gray is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy and wanton endangerment stemming. Court records said surveillance cameras found Gray leaving the scene on Wyoming Street in a vehicle driven by a woman named Cortni Stovall. She pleaded guilty last fall to her role in the deadly shooting. As part of her plea deal, she will have to testify against Gray if asked.
