A blaze in Mason County hospitalized two firefighters from the Point Pleasant Fire Department Wednesday afternoon. The first responders are now recovering from smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion. More than two acres of land burned along Redmond Ridge amid dry and windy conditions. The two firefighters were “overcome by heat and smoke” and rushed to area hospitals, according to a social media post from Point Pleasant Fire Department.
