Alligator is removed from McDowell County lake

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources responded to a lake in McDowell County earlier this week, removing an alligator that was spotted in the water. DNR officials were called to Anawalk Lake where they removed the gator. Putnam County’s Zoology Zone Science Center released a statement on social media, saying this was an unfortunate example of people getting an animal that should not be a pet. They urged folks not to release any unwatned animal into the wild, and call a rescue or another responsible agency to help instead.
