Charleston Police are investigating after a man is shot in public

One person died in a shooting in Charleston early Saturday morning. According to a news release from the Charleston Police Department, dispatch received reports of a shooting along the 400 block of Railroad Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. 29-year old Dimitri Coleman was found with multiple gunshot wounds and found dead. Police say, witnesses at a nearby bar and restaurant saw an unknown suspect approached the victim, grab him by the neck and shoot him several times before fleeing on foot. The suspect was described as a older black male wearing a black shirt and pants. The homicide investigation is ongoing.
