Childcare centers which rely on federal dollars struggle to stay in business

Daycares across the state are struggling to stay open amid a decline in federal relief money that came in COVID stimulus packages. Cuts to the West Virginia state budget are also having an impact. The West Virginia Women’s Alliance is hosting house parties and events to rally to keep more than six hundred childcare centers across the state open. Lawmakers may consider stepping in during an upcoming special session.
