Fayette man faces felony charges for eluding police

A Fayette County man faces felony charges after fleeing when deputies attempted to pull him over for driving without a valid license, according to deputies. George E. Legg, 59, of Powellton, was charged with fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference after authorities attempted to pull his vehicle over, at which point Legg sped off, reaching speeds of 90 mph. According to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, he struck a deputy cruiser and nearly struck several other drivers while fleeing before he was detained. Legg is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail awaiting an arraignment.
