Governor calls special session on Sunday

According to a news release from Gov. Jim Justice’s Office, the state legislature will be called for a special session beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday. The governor said earlier that he planned to call the session once the primary was over. The session will focus on restoring funds that were cut for vital programs. Budgets for Departments of Health and Human Services is the most pressing item. Said Justice, Hundreds of thousands of people in West Virginia who are relying on us including foster kids and those with disabilities. If we don’t restore these funds immediately, it would be a real tragedy with real consequences.”
