A man was shot and killed by West Virginia State Police on Monday in Greenbrier County. Troopers were called to an area in Fairlea for a report of a suspicious man, later identified as Justin Denver Grant, who was brandishing a deadly weapon, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police. Grant was verbally ordered to drop the weapon and refused, leading troopers to use a Taser, which was ineffective, according to the news release. Troopers said they shot Grant after the situation escalated and he refused to drop the weapon. The incident is under investigation.
