A Charleston man was arrested on Saturday on child neglect charges after police said he left his child in the car while going to gamble. Cody Lane Marchal, 30, was arrested after police received a call of a two-year-old infant being left in a car alone in 81 degree heat in the parking lot outside Mimi’s on Mountaineer Boulevard, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Court documents said that the vehicle was unlocked and running approximately 90 to 100 feet from the establishment’s doors, out of sight of Marchal, while he gambled for 15 to 20 minutes before police were notified.
