Mingo County school board gets a new appointed member

The West Virginia Department of Education appointed a new member to the Mingo County Board of Education. Superintendent Michele Blatt announced the appointment of Steven Kominar as the successor to James Baisden, who resigned in March, according to a news release from the department. Kominar is a Vietnam U.S. Airforce veteran, business owner of Lee Sartin Trucking Company and served nine terms as a representative in the West Virginia House of Delegates. He will hold the position until the upcoming elections this November.
