Primary election results

As of a week ago, around 90,000 West Virginians had already filled out their ballots for this year’s primary election according to the Secretary of State. Tuesday’s Primary election resulted in some expected and some unexpected results. West Virginia governor, Jim Justice, won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. Robert Matheny II topped the race for the Republican nomination for sheriff in Harrison County, while Shafer and McMunn came out ahead in the race for Circuit Judge. Upshur County voters unofficially defeated the county’s school excess levy.
