Eyewitness News reported last week about concerns citizens have about an ordinance relating to a beautification project. The topic dominated the Glasgow city council meeting Monday night. 19 people received letters last week from the town of Glasgow saying cars on their property were in violation of a town ordinance. The letter stated that the town has begun a beautification project, and the cars were inoperative/unlicensed/unregistered. People at the meeting questioned the city’s right to tell them what to do with the cars.The mayor of Glasgow, Donald P. Fannin, told Eyewitness News last week, if someone does not explain the intent of the cars to the town and they continue to be a problem, the next step would be a more official notice violation. He said after that the town may start issuing fines.
