Testing on Mountain Valley Pipeline shows a leak

Testing is being done on the Mountain Valley Pipeline, which runs the length of West Virginia into Virginia. Crews are doing the testing with water instead of natural gas, and after one recent test near Bent Mountain, Virginia, neighbors noticed more sediment in streams. It was a burst in the pipeline during the pressure test that caused the sediment to appear, and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality is assessing any damage. The purpose of the testing is to identify any leaks before natural gas is sent through.
