Voter turnout was low for Tuesday’s primary

Only about one third of registered West Virginia voters turned out for Tuesday’s primary. The West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office said the turnout was 30.32%, even with several key statewide races up for grabs, including U.S. Senate and West Virginia governor. Grant County had the highest percentage of voters with 43.93% voting. The lowest turnout was in Berkely County with just under 18% of registered voters casting a ballot.
