Wayne County EMS levy could still pass

The fate of a Wayne County EMS levy is still up in the air as official election results are expected to be tallied Monday. Eyewitness News said the levy, which would generate $2.6 million per year with a majority of the funding going toward a county-operated EMS service, is currently eight votes short of the required 60% approval needed. With provisional ballots still uncounted and canvassing scheduled for Monday, there’s still a chance the levy could pass. County officials said the levy funds would go toward providing two countywide ambulances that would operate 24 hours a day year-round.
