Available FEMA funds top $1.2 million

FEMA disaster assistance is now more than $1.2 million from the April storms. Between April 2nd and 6th, severe storms ripped through West Virginia, causing landslides, tornadoes, and flooding. A federal disaster declaration was approved by the president, and FEMA was brought in to help the 11 impacted counties. So far across the state, FEMA has added recovery centers in Kanawha, Putnam, Wetzel, and Nicholas counties, and they say they are not slowing down. There are four ways to apply, including online, through the FEMA mobile app, the toll-free helpline, or in person.
