A procession was held celebrating Montgomery Fire Chief Benny Filiaggi who died Friday morning. The City of Montgomery shared a statement on social media remembering the fire chief and expressing their thanks for his commitment to the city. Saying “His work ethic and passion for helping people was unmatched and he will truly be missed,” Other fire departments also shared their condolences and thanks for the work that Filiaggi put forth, not just for Montgomery, but the entire state. Filiaggi was also a devoted educator for firefighters, teaching several classes for the West Virginia Public Service Training Center, according to the statement.
