All City of Charleston pools are open for the summer. The City of Charleston Parks and Recreation Department has hired several kids from community centers to work at the pools this summer, according to Parks and Rec director, Rashaun Poore. City pools provide approximately 55 summer jobs – including lifeguards, pool managers, and concession workers. Pools are located at the Kanawha City Community Center, North Charelston Rec Center, Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, and Cato Park. Admission is free.
