Eligible students to receive grocery cards

Eligible West Virginia students will soon receive grocery assistance vouchers, state officials announced Friday. Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer cards will be mailed to students starting Sunday, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Human Services. The news release said a one-time benefit of $120 will be loaded on cards in the name of eligible youth and mailed to the address on file with the child’s school of public benefit case. Program participants are expected to receive benefits by July 12. Officials noted benefits will not be loaded onto existing Pandemic or Mountain State EBT cards. Applications may be filed online or by visiting a DoHS county office. For more information call 866-545-6502.
