Earlier this year, Jaylen Bell, of Dewitt, Michigan, was ordered to undergo a forensic evaluation to determine his competency after being accused in a Kanawha County police pursuit. This week, a judge rescheduled the status hearing that was supposed to happen Tuesday, so the doctor who completed the evaluation will be able to testify. The chase went through a convenience store parking lot across the Nitro St. Albans bridge onto route 25 in Nitro, then on Intestate 64 west into Putnam County last July. A new hearing date hasn’t been announced.
