Justice family reaches a settlement with banks over defaulted loans

Gov. Jim Justice’s family announced a settlement over debts owed to Carter banks after months of negotiation. The family said in a statement that the settlement with Carter Bank and Trust resolves all outstanding disputes. The Justice family had previously been challenged by the Virginia based bank due to over $300 million dollars in defaulted business loans which led the bank to threaten the auctioning off land at the Justice-owned Greenbrier resort earlier this year. The exact details of the settlement have not been disclosed.
