According to court records, a man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly striking another man with a blunt force object several times in Kanawha County. William Holt Cobb, 72, of Winfield is charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding in an incident Wednesday night, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Troopers responded to the 7000 block of East Dupont Avenue about 8 p.m. for a reported assault where they found a man with severe head trauma and cuts to his head and face. Witnesses identified Cobb as the suspect. Troopers said the victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Cobb is currently being held on a $250,000 bond
