Cabell County Schools Superintendent Dr. Ryan Saxe has been named West Virginia’s Superintendent of the Year. Last year’s award winner Dr. Eugenia Lambert, now with Marshall University, presented Saxe with the award, according to a news release from the school system. Since accepting the position in 2017, Saxe has overseen the construction of Davis Creek, Highlawn, Meadows and Milton elementaries along with the Woody Williams Center for Advanced Learning and Careers. On Monday, Berkeley County Schools unanimously voted to hire Saxe to lead the district for the next three years.
