Three schools in Kanawha County have permanently closed

Schcool’s out for the summer, and there are three Kanawha County schools where students won’t return. Last year, the Kanawha County School Board voted unanimously to close George C. Weimer Elementary in St. Albans, Grandview Elementary in Charleston, and Marmet Elementary in Marmet, and they’ve now ceased operating. It was a drop in enrollment that led to the closure of the schools. Students who attended Grandview Elementary will transfer to Mary C. Snow Elementary, and Edgewood Elementary will receive the rest.
