2 car crash with rollover splits utility pole and 1,100 people were without electricity

Dispatchers say a two-car crash that caused a vehicle to roll over into a utility pole in the west side of Charleston left hundreds of people without power. Reports of the wreck came in about 8:30 p.m. on Friday along the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue South with a vehicle rolling over, splitting to utility pole in half and catching fire. Emergency services responded with police reporting only minor injuries. Appalachian Electric Power was requested to secure the power line and replace the utility pole that was damaged. At the time an estimated 1,100 people were without electricity with an estimated restoration time of 5 a.m.
