Cabell Midland High School remembers teen that died in car crash

Cabell Midland High School and its community are mourning the death of a student who died in a car crash Thursday evening. Braxton Hayden McComas, 17, of Huntington, died in a three-vehicle wreck near Davis Creek Road in Barboursville just before 9 p.m. and a teenage passenger was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with “major injuries.” “It is with heavy hearts that the staff and administration of Cabell Midland wish to offer our deepest condolences to Braxton’s family,” Matt Adkins, Cabell Midland principle, said in a statement. “He will forever be a Knight.” Cabell County Superintendent Tim Hardesty also shared his condolences for those who knew McComas and those involved in the wreck. A 23-year-old Ohio man faces charges including DUI causing death and DUI causing bodily injury in connection to the crash.
