Kroger has announced the start date for construction on a new location in Kanawha County. April 2025 will see work beginning on the new Kroger Marketplace, to be located at the Park Place Shopping Center on MacCorkle Avenue. That according to South Charleston Mayor Frank Mullens. Kroger will be the fourth business to be developed for that area. Chick-fil-A opened in 2023 and a Starbucks is slated to open this week. A Menard’s was announced for the development in 2022, but construction has not yet been completed on it.
