New program lets shelter dogs be checked out for the day

The Kanawha Charleston Humane Association started a new program called “Borrow a Buddy” allowing people can come to the shelter and pick up a dog to take on a day out, just as long as they have them back before closing. Employees at the KCHA said it helps exercise the pets and can be a stress reliever for people too. Some people who take dogs out of the shelter for the day end up adopting them.
