The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association lost power at its facility Monday morning on what was one of the hottest days of the year so far. The power came back on around noon and workers at the shelter spent the rest of the day organizing supplies that were donated. More than 3,100 Appalachian Power customers were without service in Kanawha County at one point on Monday morning.
