South Charleston Public Library reopening set for July 10

A Kanawha County community will again have access to its library after severe weather damaged the building earlier this year. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the South Charleston Public Library has been scheduled for Monday, July 8 at 10 a.m. Early April storms ripped the roof off the building and damaged a portion of the odd library’s collection. The structure has been repaired, carpets replaced and more than 40,000 books reshelved. In the news release, library director Todd Duncan said “We are thrilled to welcome our community back to our library,” We can’t wait for you to see the exciting changes and continue your journey of discovery and learning with us.” The public is invited to the grand reopening, A story time for young patrons is set to follow the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
