State Board of Education announces new leadership

The West Virginia Board of Education voted for new leadership this week during annual elections. Nancy White has been elected president of while Victor Gabriel will serve as vice president, according to a news release from the board. The news release outlined White’s four decades of service in education, including 36 years in West Virginia school business and past experience as the state board’s vice president. She will replace Paul Hardesty who will now work as a legislative liaison. White’s term on the board will expire in 2031. Gabriel retired after 44 years of service in Harrison County where he served as a teacher, administrator and filled multiple roles at the county level.
