An important part of the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta is the sternwheels that travel the Kanawha River to dock at the levee and enjoy the festivities. J.D. Basham, a sternwheel owner, said he’s owned a Sternwheel for three years and likes to be part of the community, adding boaters look out for each other and will always lend a helping hand. Sternwheel owners said they’re thrilled to see the Regatta brought back to life for everybody to enjoy.
