Union workers announced a multi-year deal was established this week for Optimum employees in West Virginia. The Communication Workers of America reached an agreement with the telecommunication company which boosts pay and job security for workers in the Beckley and Logan areas. The contract includes a 7.69% compound wage increase over three years along with new minimum salaries for technicians, according to a news release from the CWA. Contract negotiations began in February. A tentative agreement was reached last week before being ratified Wednesday. Optimum’s parent company, Altice, is the fourth-largest telecommunications provider in the country.
