It’s more than a year away, but Marshall University is making plans to open the 2025 football season with an opponent they’ve only faced once before. The Thundering Herd will open the 2025 football season with a game against Georgia on Aug. 30 in Athens, According to a Marshall Athletics release. The teams played for the first time in 2004. Marshall will have two other Power Four contests this year, Virginia Tech on Sept. 7 and Ohio State on Sept. 21.
