A Kanawha County man was fatally shot by his girlfriend early Thursday morning after an argument turned violent, investigators said. According to a news release from the Charleston Police Department the victim was identified as Chrishawn Perkins, 32, of Charleston. Police responded to a shooting call at a home in the 700 block of Grace Avenue. Perkins struck and injured his girlfriend. At one point, he grabbed a firearm and threated to kill his girlfriend. When he put it down, the girlfriend picked up the firearm, fired a single shot and killed Perkins. The woman was treated for injuries in a hospital. The case has been handed over to Kanawha County prosecutors for further review, but so far no criminal charges have been filed.
