Police ask for tips in Walgreens theft investigation

Charleston police are asking for public assistance to identify a suspect in an armed robbery incident. Officers responded to a Walgreens location in the 3000 block of MacCorkle Avenue Southeast on Aug. 17 when it was reported a person was confronted for trying to steal a bottle of alcohol, according to a social media post from the Charleston Police Department. The post said the person displayed a firearm and fled the area, traveling in a white Toyota Corolla that may have had a North Carolina license plate. Police posted a picture of the suspect on social media in hopes of furthering the investigation.
