Storm sewer issues to be addressed in Rand

The town of Rand is getting help with its drainage systems. A bid has been awarded to AMPECO, Inc., whose bid came in under expectations. Governor Jim Justice said in a news release that the West Virginia Department of Transportation listed repairing the Rand drainage system as one of 30 projects in a bid letting on July 16. The storm sewers and sanitary sewers ran together for decades and were eventually separated. Residents of Rand have been facing storm sewer drainage problems for years. New lines running to the Kanawha River will help alleviate flooding problems too.
