West Virginia health care programs are set to benefit from more than $1.8 million in federal funding. This funding aims to enhance HIV prevention efforts, expand medical coverage in rural areas, and support telehealth training for pediatric mental health care providers. Announced by U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, the $1,871,134 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be allocated to the West Virginia State Department of Health and Human Resources. This funding is expected to significantly improve health care access and quality for West Virginia residents, particularly in underserved rural areas.
